Almost no people all day and lots of sunshine. That’s the good news. Now to the bad news: Too windy (heavy at times) and therefore a real bad wind-chill; no new snow and no secrets to be found, only fair…

Another great Mountain. U$82 lift ticket!! (2008). It is not very big but has great vertical and so many double black runs. There are only 3 high-speed quads and some slow ones but that’s good enough.

I kind of like this mountain. Nice steep spots but also some flat parts you have to take again and again. At first no lines at all; then around 10 AM we had to wait for about 3min and the…

During the morning hours, we had hard packed and icy conditions. The man-made areas especially are more like a glacier. Nevertheless, it was not too bad at all, just the not groomed stuff. Had to wait until about lunch time…

This resort is much bigger than the other Aspen resorts but it was also a bit busier. Lines were generally between 2-5min and twice up to 10min. Many high-speed quads and one six pack. 4,400 vertical is more than many…

Another day with rock solid hard-packed snow in the morning followed by some soft stuff depending on the exposure. However, I had to explore the whole mountain regardless of the snow. Some steep but short spots but no real long…

This mountain is much better than I expected. It provides good stuff for any kind of skier. The Mountain Village is rather flat and perfect for beginner or intermediate skier. That was also the area with the most skiers. Lines…

This report is based on one day at Vail, and I’m sure some locals would not really agree. I’ll come back one day and make sure to know more about the mountain and the endless amount of local secrets.
